That’s Christmas done

Turns out I am not a very Christmassy person. WHO KNEW? Lots of people. Though many are surprised when they find out.

Having a birthday near Christmas is shit.

Having lost my grandfather near Christmas is shit.

Having had a relationship fall apart near Christmas is shit.

And of course there’s a vortex of guilt, envy, anger, sorrow, and more wrapped up in a pretty bow.

That’s OK though. I do regret not being excited to see my family, to hang out with my nephews, but I really struggled this year.

So next year I’m changing things. Australia? Maybe. Let’s see how it goes.

Don’t stick with what you think is expected if it does you no good.

Damn. This was a short paragraphy post!

Get help

I nearly burnt myself out twice this year.

I was tempted to flip the table, say “fuck all this and fuck you too” and go get a high paying corporate job, burning Coaching for Geeks to the ground and walking away.

An overreaction, but people act out when they go over threshold.

Both times I got help. My team grew, I handed over tasks, content creation, and now an intern has joined the team, and I have loads of people wanting to work with us.

Which is humbling and made me almost do a cry on a FB live.

Anyway, get help.  No matter where you’re struggling.

Was it Richard Branson who said “find a CEO to replace you who’s better than you”?

I don’t know, but it fits, so let’s say yes until proven otherwise.

I am sick

And have very much neglected this blog.

Being sick gave me the chance to sit down and reflect on what needs to be done, what’s been done, and what lies ahead.

TAKE THAT MANFLU! I am vaguely productive. Even if I got out of bed at 2pm, bitched and moaned about going to the shop for milk for my tea and bought mostly biscuits.

I am not a good patient.

So what’s coming up?

More courses. Why? People in our tribe want help with time management, personal branding, networking, procrastination, building habits, social media automation, and more. Also it wouldn’t hurt to have a little passive income trickling in and getting more people aware of our brand.

And other things. They can wait. I have more things to prepare for the blog and I’ll talk about the importance of content marketing soon. And should probably sort some branding out for this little blog…
